Right now, I just want some help to maintain hold on my housing and disability care until the government’s support kicks in, hopefully within the month. Because there’s extreme scarcity of accessible shelter, I have to live in an expensive place, for which I was invoiced $1150 yesterday. I also need help with $458 needed for food + disability support workers’ pay. I cannot stress enough that I simply won’t survive without financial help. UPDATE: There is now also two bills totaling $279 I have to pay within 20 hrs by 3am Oct 21 for home care. Avoiding payment delays will help me to retain highly skilled carers whom I value.
Despite getting almost 4,500 notes so far, I’ve been unable to raise enough money for bills had to be paid almost a week ago.
I’m not going to lie, it’s extremely physically and emotionally taxing to run this fundraiser, to basically say the same thing in different ways over and over again every single day without fail, and if I do fail, then I will have no protection against being dragged out onto the street or being denied healthcare. It makes me angry that people see me suffer as someone who is only 21 and becoming weaker while having been stuck in bed for years, without being willing to do anything about it.
I’ve raised huge amounts at certain points during this fundraiser through viral posts, but that was only when things became desperate or dangerous for me, and that sort of situation would likely have just never happened if there were adequate and consistent reblogs & donations. I want people to understand that economic deprivation that delays healing to the point of permanent immobilisation is almost the same as deliberately imprisoning someone arbitrarily, and denying me financial support to the point of putting me in danger of economically “justified” violence is being complicit with the violent person. I also don’t think explaining my life in an honest way like this makes me “manipulative”, which suggests that people think horrible situations only exist when people make them up.
I understand that not everyone can donate, and not many other people are in great financial situations either, but I am just asking for a reblog, which could really help change my situation. I’ve been getting next to no donations, and am a week behind on bills that my life is dependent on.

PLEASE HELP ME with $892 in fees needed TODAY (Oct 14) for temp. accommodation and long overdue home care invoices!! I’m really struggling! NB: it’s been a day and a half but there are still $585 left to raise! being bedridden and not having enough money for basics that protect me from discrimination & violence is a horrible situation to be in and i DESPERATELY need your help.
Disability, and being stalked: I’m confined to my bed 24/7 because of permanent nerve damage, need long hours of paid disability support and also obviously can’t work. Without help from fundraising and with only measly government services, I would be on the street and would be totally isolated 24/7.
I was recently stalked and threatened into halting this fundraiser, so I can no longer provide the extensive details about my situation.
Accommodation fees: I need help to cover a $711 payment that was due on Oct 14. b/c my accommodation is temporary, there are frequent high fees, and without payment, I could be removed onto the street promptly.
Home care: needed to maintain my accommodation, b/c I can only lay on a bed and would have atrocious hygiene standards if unassisted. Lack of home care would expose me to greater risk of prejudice and violence for my disability. The home care invoices incl.: $81 that was due on Oct 11 and $100 due on Oct 13.

My mobility is impaired by permanent nerve damage and I’m extremely weak, in that I can’t sit upright at all. This has made me both unable to work and reliant on extremely expensive disability support and housing. All of this is made even more difficult by the fact that I’m frequently deliberately mistreated for my disability; in this instance, someone stalked and threatened me to force me into stopping the fundraiser that I am reliant on so that savings I kept for obligatory payments for my long term care and medical treatments were depleted by thousands of dollars.
Because of the ongoing risks of being stalked, I can’t provide details about my situation like I used to, but I can explain that the majority of my expenses will go towards home care, special transport, medical products and rent. At the moment, this unfortunately adds up to at least approx. $1800/week. It wasn’t possible to raise enough for bills that were due on Thurs and Fri last week and there are $446 left to raise. I also need to pay $463 for two other home care invoices and specialist healthcare products.

I’ve received $35 today which I’m very grateful for but I need more than that to survive!!! please donate anything – a dollar, a few cents – if you can. the consequences of not having enough funds for me are having my services cease and potentially being homeless. there’s no homelessness services in my state that help severely physically disabled people, despite that the consequences of homelessness are simply unthinkable for me, so i really need to pay for a roof over my head.
My best friend Lucy was diagnosed around a year and a half ago with Lyme disease. For those who do not know what Lyme disease is – and for the sake of keeping this post as short and simple as possible – the best website for details on Lyme can be found here.
Lyme disease is a debilitating illness that has plagued Lucy for over a decade. Being a tick borne illness, it is not legally recognised within Australia, despite the overwhelming evidence to prove it so. She contracted the disease at around the age of 9. Her mother’s best friend rescued native Australian animals around that time, and it is from one of the animals Lucy came into contact with, where she was bitten by a tick that carried Borrelia.
Initially, Lucy and her family were under the impression that Lyme could only be successfully treated in Germany, as they are at the forefront of Lyme education. Upon further consultation with a myriad of doctors in California and Queensland, they discovered there was a small clinic in Logan, QLD, that provided a similar form of treatment as is conducted in Sweden. Basically, the treatment involves boiling the patient’s’ blood between 41 – 47.5 degrees celsius, thus boiling the bacteria out of their system. As you can imagine, procedures like this cost an exorbitant amount of money. We managed to fundraise approximately $8,000AUD last year, and Lucy moved to Logan for 3 months in order to conduct the treatment.

It was a breath of fresh air for the past year to know that she was finally free from the pain caused by Lyme. Lucy developed Endometriosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, myoclonic seizures, as well as having weak shoulders due to a lack of blood flow – resulting in a separate surgery. It all seemed worth it after her initial treatment. Over the past two months, Lucy’s pain has returned. This is quite normal, as treatment for Lyme in its chronic stage is rarely wholly successful. It can take a multitude of treatment sessions to completely eradicate the disease; and even then, it’s only those who are lucky who never endure the repercussions of Lyme again. Lucy’s blood was sent off to the clinic in Queensland two weeks ago, where they confirmed the presence of the bacteria. Her only hope at this current point in time is two follow up sessions – which comes to the total of $3,500AUD; this includes the cost of accommodation and flights.
So, in short, I am reaching to the Tumblr community: a place that has opened its arms for those suffering with mental illnesses, chronic physical illnesses amongst others, and raised funds in order to prevent further suffering around the world. I have opened a new account connected to a PayPal page, in the hopes that there are at least some who will donate to Lucy’s cause. It is registered under my name: Ophelia.
Please, please, please, we are basically begging at this point in time. Her doctor wishes for her to complete treatment by the end of November; before the pain becomes too excruciating once more.

IDK if y’all have heard about this outside of Portland but a white bicyclist bear sprayed three black children in a car, causing one of them to have to go to the hospital where even the medical attendant working on them was choking off the fumes (after transportation!).
The family had to declare their family car totaled because the can of bear spray is not something they can easily have removed.
The attacker is light-skinned male in his mid-20s, 5’9″ tall, 160 pounds, wearing black spandex-style bicycle clothing and a grey and black helmet. The suspect was riding a road-style bicycle (not a mountain bike), with a white box on the back of the bicycle. The white box attached to his bike was found. He sprayed the family on Tuesday evening, Sept. near Northeast Ninth Avenue and Killingsworth Street.
