While we here at Potterwatch applaud Hagrid’s spirit, we would urge against following Hagrid’s lead. Support Harry Potter parties are unwise in the present climate.

To me, the greatest thing about Skeeter’s article is this: Teddy was mentioned. The fact that he’s a half werewolf was mentioned. And his snogging of Victoire is also mentioned. Yet, despite the fact that this article was written by Rita Skeeter there was nothing degrading werewolves or halfbreeds or the Weasley family for fraternizing with them. And the only reason I can think of that she wouldn’t write anything like that? Werewolves are no longer looked down upon by wizarding society.
“I was trying to make a world in which he could live a happier life”. Congrats, Remus. You and the Order, Harry and Dumbledore’s Army…you really did change your world.
Yeah, but guys, can you imagine Remus Lupin going on a premiere of Les Mis in London (1985) because he loved the book and decided to finally go out and have a bit of fun and then hearing “Empty chairs at empty tables”? Because I just did and I am not okay.

Remus Lupin was posthumously awarded the Order of Merlin, First Class, the first werewolf ever to be accorded this honour. The example of his life and death did much to lift the stigma on werewolves. He was never forgotten by anyone who knew him: a brave, kind man who did the best he could in very difficult circumstances and who helped many more than he ever realised.
