This makes me a bit sad

Before handing over Lucasfilm and the future of his galactic saga to The Walt Disney Co. for $4 billion

I mean

I feel like the title here is a bit quite-miney? Like. He goes on to say that he totally understands why and that he doesn’t want to push the issue.

Remember, the last time George Lucas was given input on what Star Wars should be, we got Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Which are flawed but awesome movies that I absolutely love! And they are absolutely what Star Wars should be. I mean, it is Lucas who gets to make the decision what exactly that is; it’s his baby. (Well, was.) Without him there wouldn’t be any Star Wars at all, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation, and Tumblr wouldn’t be abuzz over Rey and Finn and Poe and my life would be, I dunno, 5%-10% suckier

(Also, the very last time George Lucas was given input into what Star Wars should be, we actually got Revenge of the Sith, which I will always defend as being a pretty good movie in its own right as well as being Important in its politics in a way none of the other films quite managed)
