I had a file where I kept every bit of anon hate (then known as ‘flames’) that I ever got as a 13-year-old in anime fandom
This is incredible
Looking through it though, it’s actually a bit…gendered and creepy. It was mostly directed to the various female Digimon characters whom I adored, via me? So they were all bitches and sluts and cows, etc etc etc, and there’s one particularly unpleasant one from a guestbook* where a complete stranger suggests that I (a girl of 13) am going to “kidnap and rape [them]” and wow this trip down memory lane is less hilarious than I thought, my apologies.
