i just saw someone say that qui gon/obi wan is the “purest ship ever” and i don’t think that i’ve ever disagreed with anything more before in my entire life
the pseudo incest vibes and power imbalances you’d have in that would be awful. not to mention just the age difference (their actors are nineteen years apart in age???)
It’s the only major Star Wars ship that legit makes me uncomfortable. Maybe because I devoured Jedi Apprentice as a kid and in that….like…Qui-Gon basically raises Obi-Wan from age twelve. They’re father and son in pretty much every way that matters, so seeing them shipped romantically just really skeeves me out.
(Also, Liam and Ewan may be nineteen years apart in age but apparently Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are like forty years apart in age? Guess Yoda isn’t the only Jedi who lives longer than everybody else.)
