“Black holes are the seductive dragons of the universe, outwardly quiescent yet violent at the heart, uncanny, hostile, primeval, emitting a negative radiance that draws all toward them, gobbling up all who come too close. Once having entered the tumultuous orbit of a black hole, nothing can break away from its passionate but fatal embrace. Though cons of teasing play may be granted the doomed, ultimately play turns to prey and all are sucked haplessly―brilliantly aglow, true, but oh so briefly so―into the fire-breathing maw of oblivion.“
really random, but since anakin skywalker was a slave, i really would have liked the name skywalker to be a name that he either gave himself or was given by someone else. for one, it seems odd to me that a slave would have a surname in the first place. and secondly, it seems like something that COULD have been a name he took for himself or was given. he’s a sky walker now. he’s started to travel the galaxy, fly planes and learn to be a jedi which was something that a little slave from tatooine could never even dream of. he became a skywalker when he traveled among the stars, his destiny his own to forge.
that wouldn’t have made the name any LESS valid. i would actually argue that it would have made in MORE valid. as something that truly symbolizes the period in his life between being freed and turning to the dark side.
I think we can assume that basically did happen, but with Shmi instead of Anakin.
This was his [Obi-Wan’s] life now. To protect a baby who didn’t know him, might never know him. To have no one by his side, ever again. To be Master to none, to have his life linked to no one.
To coexist with memories that he could not live with. To have the memory of Anakin be like living fire in his gut.
To get up every day, to stand, to watch, to live, when so many had died.
And keep on walking.

I think I’m gonna take the whole story to quotes because it’s freaking amazing!

Sometimes he [Obi-Wan] talked to him in his head. Arguments more furious than the ones they’d had. Talks in which he explained, Master to Padawan, why he’d done what he’d done. Simple words that managed to say everything he’d meant to say, only more clearly than he’d ever been able to say it. In these talks, Anakin listened and understood.
Of course, he was talking to a ghost. Anakin Skywalker was dead.
