adventure time

celebi9:

AT means everything to me. To see that it’s going to end just breaks my heart, but I’m really grateful that we had this show for so long. I’ve met so many amazing people here and I couldn’t be any more happier! <3

I’m honestly really happy we got a backstory to Ice King/Simon Petrikov, we got the chance to learn who he really was and how he became who he is now. I’m hoping they’ll find a way to fix him and give him the happy ending he deserves.

Thank you to Pen and the crew for giving us Adventure Time! I will forever love this show! <333

The AT crew confirmed on twitter they’ll resolve the subplots and used an example “Will Ice King finally be happy?” for that. We are in for a ride.

Oh, good! This is actually one of the things that makes me happy about the show coming to an end. With Adventure Time, I always felt that the writers had to hold back any conclusions to subplots that would lead to a permanent change, because the show had to keep it’s Status Quo intact.

For instance, I always knew that if Ice King’s plot ever ends with him becoming Simon again (or something along these lines), it would only happen near the end of the show. Because Ice King is one of the most recognizable icons of the show, you know? I don’t think that Cartoon Network would let him change entirely half-way through the series.

But now that it’s near the end, I feel like the writers can finally go nuts with all the plots that they want to resolve. There’s no reason to hold back too much. And what’s better is that they can do it gradually and naturally through the course of 2 entire seasons! I’m pretty excited to see what’s in store, really!

Adventure Time is ending and, well, I’m both sad and glad. Sad because I will miss the show, but glad that we still have two entire seasons to go and that the show will end  in it’s own terms, with a proper, planned out ending for our characters.

Still, I’ve been watching it for so long… Adventure Time was the show that pulled me back into liking cartoons. And regardless of how you feel about it, it did leave a big impact on modern TV animation. It made cartoons ‘cool’ again, at a time where cartoons were severely declining in popularity, to the point where even Cartoon Network had wanted to trade their cartoons for live-action shows, in spite of it’s whole gig being, well, a cartoon network.

I’ll miss it, but I will also fondly remember it for the creative, funny, and often very emotional show that it was.

These are the brownies Leslie made us, after she poured a bottle of wine in me, after Adam called to tell me that Adventure Time was ending.

AT was the best job I’ve ever had, I am in love the show and this is for sure a difficult goodbye. November 2011 Leslie and I got engaged and I emailed Pen and said like “you know the boarding job I turned down a while back, can I do that.” because I was going to be a husband and I needed a career.

So this job has been very exactly our entire marriage, (I even think that we started dating about the time when I started doing revision work on Adventure Time.) What a tough goodbye!

Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with, (I can’t think of anyone I’ve worked closely with who I didn’t love), but especially thank you to Adam and Pen. I feel very lucky.

BUT while production is packing up, 2018 is a long ways away and I’m in love the episodes that are coming. Some really hot stuff.

Adventure Time Sets Series Finale

“Adventure Time was a passion project for the people on the crew who poured their heart into the art and stories. We tried to put into every episode something genuine and telling from our lives, and make a show that was personal to us, and that had jokes too! I’m really happy that it connected with an audience for so long. It’s a special thing, I think.” — Pen Ward
