grandad in the ’60s (my first photo colourisation!)
Today is my dad’s birthday so I decided to surprise him with a colourised, hopefully adequately cleaned up version of a photo of his dad, my grandad. It’s not professional quality but, I’m glad I mostly got rid of the scratches!
Grandad looks a lot like Dad in this photo. It was nice to clean it up. I’m gonna try colourising some other old monochrome family photos soon I think!

Hey there :) That’s really good – did you use photoshop actions to do it or did you colourise it manually and did you use Photoshop? I am a huge photoshop buff myself so I’m curious :)

Awww thank you!
This is maybe a wee bit embarassing but I use the same now very outdated program I’ve used since I was teenager, Jasc Paint Shop Pro. And not even the most modern version. I’m just used to it! But I do use Photoshop to improve the colours and the like. :)

Ah no worries, I was just curious because I love Adobe :) I blog regularly about tutorials and I create most of my edits in Adobe :) And I do remember JASC PSP lol barely. I don’t think the tools matter as much as long as you’re like what you’re doing and enjoy it :) I would never have guessed that you weren’t using Photoshop, it’s really well done, very subtle but just enough to make it look great!

Awww thank you! And you’re right about tools. :) I’ll have to check your tutorials! I still have a lot to learn!
