Candela’s actually the most verbally affectionate

memysonmyhusband:

Just wanted to point this out because fanon makes Spark out to be the one to do this! I’m basing this on the dialogue from appraisals implemented in update 0.35.0. It’s nice to see the compassionate side of her represented more, as much as I love the whole [drives truck into a store wall, tears apart a fridge] thing. Just look at their responses to:

66.7-80.0% Max IVs
Candela: [Name] is a strong Pokemon. You should be proud!
Spark: Overall, your [Name] is really strong!

0-48.9% Max IVs
Candela: Overall, your [Name] may not be great in battle, but I still like it!
Spark: Overall, your [Name] has room for improvement as far as battling goes.

Pokemon is Small (but not XS) size
Candela: Aww, what a small [Name]!  It’s rather cute, I’d say.
Spark: Your [Name] is a little small for its kind, don’t you think?

End of appraisal:
Candela: Hope I was able to help. Take care!
Spark: That’s what I think! See ya!

Candela’s farewell is so cute I cry. Anyways, something I found interesting. Spark’s still really friendly and sensitive about how he phrases things, but he doesn’t praise the Pokemon as much as Candela, or is as warm when he says goodbye. Maybe he’s still a big softie, inclined to show affection physically or something instead, or still verbally affectionate but simply more serious on the job than fanon portrays him to be? (cough it’s not hard he’s mostly shown as incompetent/putting no effort into it cough)

Summary: Candela is a huge sweetheart and we should all love her even more.
