I went to see Warwick Davies do a Q&A at the National Space Center today! Also we got to see the full version of Return of the Ewok which apparently very few people have seen?

Anyway here’s some of the stuff he had to say:

  • on the set of Labyrinth the filmmakers threw away some of the cool stuff from the set so he just scooped it out the trash and kept it
  • When Warwick saw Star Wars as a kid, he couldn’t work out how C3PO was done because the wires at his middle made him think there couldn’t be a guy in there
  • He likes all the movies he’s done, even the Leprechaun ones he says
  • When at to the score recording for The Phantom Menace he asked George Lucas if all his characters in Star Wars could have the initial W. George agreed and his TPM character was named “Weazel” on the spot
  • This tradition continued into TFA, where his character is called Wollivan, and also his daughter can be seen in the film in Maz’s cantina
  • You know that story I once mentioned about how Mark Hamill bought him a bunch of toys on the ROTJ set? I asked him about it and not only is it true but it’s EVEN BETTER! Mark asked him which Star Wars toys he didn’t have, Warwick ended up giving him a list of them which stretched over two pages, Mark paled on seeing the list but bought him them anyway!

Also Warwick signed my ROTJ DVD! Also also, all the ticket money went to charity, which is extra good!
