i noticed something. when finn and rey reunite at starkiller base, finn doesn’t instantly go to hug her even though we all know he’s really affectionate and that in actuality it’s rey that initiates the hug, and i realised that this is because finn remembers she doesn’t like the hand-holding. he remembers that it made her uncomfortable and he respected her and knew her well enough to refrain even though this man has literally run back towards his worst fear to save rey. you bet he wants to hug her. you bet he wants to hold her in his arms and make sure that that’s really her and that she’s really okay, but he doesn’t. finn doesn’t because he’s respectful of rey’s wishes and doesn’t want to do anything without her consent.
this man is a true gift.
