Idk why but my memory of RoTS always seem to ablate the fact that Anakin actually went to Windu and told him Palp’s a Sith Lord. And Windu’s like OK I TRUST YU WE GO ARREST HIM NAO. And And then Windu was like ” Go wait in the council chambers.” Like WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT TO HIM WINDU????? ISOLATION = BROODING (which is NEVER a good thing for Anakin). If Obi-Wan was there… Idk. *massive sigh*
That scene is amazing (not just the brooding one) because Anakin actually honestly tries to do the right thing, twice over. He pulls his saber on Palpatine, but doesn’t kill in anger, and then he reports it to Mace whose exact words are “you will have earned my trust.” As in, “I haven’t ever trusted you before and I’m going to stand here and imply that you are either participating in a Sith scheme to get me killed or, for some bizarre reason, making up a lie about your friend being a Sith. But if this is true you will have earned my trust.”
