He’s so rad that there’s even beer inspired by him.
Near Arbor Brewing Company is an extraordinary bookstore called Literati.
If you check out their basement you’ll find more books, room for events, plus a typewriter that anyone can leave notes on.
Something adorable is happening.
“dear violen monster, next week could you come to the
farmers market? love Logan age 7”
***[to be fair, sometimes the typewriter can be tricky to use]
"dear Logan, this week i will be at the ren. [Renaissance] fair,
next week I,ll be at the market. hope to see you. love,
But it didn’t stop there…
"where areyou going to be on Hallowen violen monster??
love logan PS I want to be you for halloween I love
your violen MUSIC uuuu00uuuuwtwttttt fsdddddsmcnppyb”
And Halloween rolled around…
Look! His cute little apprentice!
The Violin Monster worked with 826 Michigan, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting kids with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
So what’s the takeaway?
Fairy doors, busking werewolves, magical bookstores…A2 is enchanting and full of hope and stories. It brings people together.
Here’s to typewriters, nostalgia, fairytales, writing, music, and kindness.
