#omg this is gorgeous#combeferre the egoist#forgets his own mother dammit#sweet baby#i bet his mother loved him#i bet she waited to hear from him#he was a good son#got a bit distracted sometimes with his revolutionising#but he’d write home#and no letters came#no word#until she got wind of what had befallen him#and his activities#and she just didn’t want to believe it#she’d put a candle in her window every evening hoping he was on his way home#hoping it would help him find her and his childhood home in the darkness#but he never came back#she had his things sent for#and got only some books and clothes#she’d sit with his baby clothes#lay them out and look at them all#and wonder what had happened because she’s a good woman but she doesn’t understand#she just loves him and he’d had such a future before him#she still nearly calls for him on instinct to come and have his lunch but he’s not there#he’s not there and he never will be (via punforrestpun)
