Some jewellery!
You know, it’s time I used this LJ to talk about another big hobby of mine, jewellery making! I’ve been doing it for about a year now. IT IS SO AWESOME.
Especially working with polymer clay. I make my own beads from polymer clay, string them together, and it sounds boring but it is awesomely fun.

This is one of my favourite necklaces. I sold it a few days ago and now I think I should make another one, because I loved the colours. That sparkly stuff is glitter and leaf metal. I love leaf metal, it makes things SHINY.

These earrings are made with one of my favourite colours (sapphire) and the metal bits were nicked from an old bracelet I bought. (I love to upcycle.)

My other favourite colour, violet. That’s more leaf metal and glitter to make it really really sparkly. I love this one to bits. A part of me wants to keep it, but it’s on my folksy store. So perhaps not.

I made some beads, they went horribly wrong, but eventually I managed to get them nice. Aren’t they nice? Essentially I just smeared the clay about until it turned into a non-murky colour.

More of the sapphire. But those gold ones were made with gold powder, which is BRILLIANT stuff. It makes everything so…shiny.

Oh Sarah I LOVE those! I especially love the top one, it’s beautiful. :D It’s something I would buy for myself. I’ve never gotten into jewelry making, but making your own beads sounds fascinating. :D

Aw thank you! I really really love making them, and in fact may dedicate more of this LJ to it. :D

You should! I would like to know more about the actual process involved in making the beads themselves, etc. The materials you need and that sort of thing. :D I love making things. :D The creative process is so much fun! The nice thing about making your own beads is that it’s a way to stand out from everybody else. :D
