And then I thought, okay, if you think there should be one, make one…

Well, okay, let’s have a go! I’m new skool but with much appreciation (and begging for someone to get me into it) for the old skool as well… What name you go by: duck on the intarweb, Abby for those who actually know me. speshulduck for all your LJ needs. What your LJ is like: For the most part it’s a 50-50 mix of RL and fandom stuff. I’ll be heading off to the U.S. Army within a month or two, so for a few months expect a desolate wasteland of nothing to look at there but huge honkin’ pictures of David Tennant. There’s a healthy mix of fic, meta, and just general ramblings on the fandom front, but I keep all my icons confined to my icon journal. And
sometimesfrequently there’s David Tennant-related squee. I apologize, but I’ve never been a real fangirl before now and I’m still trying to control it. Favorite characters: Second and Ninth Doctors (but if illegal things ever finish downloading, I think I’ll love Seven too), the TARDIS, Jamie, Rose, Jack. The jury is still out on Ten, even if I’m head over heels for the actor. Favorite ships: Plunk a ship down in front of me and I’ll probably like it. Doctor/Rose verges on my OTP, but I also like Doctor/Rose/Jack, Doctor/Rose/Jack/TARDIS, Doctor/Rose/TARDIS, Doctor/TARDIS, Doctor/Jack, Rose/Jack, Rose/Mickey, Jack/Mickey, Doctor/Romana, etc until the end of all pairing combinations. No, I’m not an Oxonian. Not any longer, at least, but I did spend one year there as a visiting student. During that time, I would hang out with my best friend from college at the G&D’s in Jericho almost every Saturday night. Their brownies with ice-cream are a thing of beauty and a joy forever, and I totally blame them for the fact that I no longer fit into my old jeans when I came back from the UK. :)

What name you go by: Well, livii. Alison and Ali are fine too. What your LJ is like: A fair amount of RL, especially now as I’ve been moving, immigrating, etc. etc. I’m also fiercely Canadian and very political and will post on that from time-to-time when I am so moved. There’s also a fair bit of DW, especially as I’ve been working my way through the old series (slowly), Harry Potter (though I have a filter for that, you can ask to be added to it – it’s infrequently used these days though), and other random fandomy squees like NFL football, hockey, Biggles, ER, The Daily Show, or, y’know, whatever catches my fancy that day. Favourite characters: The Doctor of course, but specifically Two, Nine, One, and Ten is coming right up there. (I haven’t seen Three, Six, Seven, or Eight yet, and those may yet be added to the list). I also madly love Harry Sullivan, Jamie McCrimmon, Captain Jack, and Mickey; and also adore Rose, Zoe, Tegan, Harriet Jones, and Davesh from BW/PotW. Favourite ships: Nine/Rose, considering Ten/Rose, Mickey/Rose, Harry/anyone (you write it, I’ll read it), and Two/Jamie/Zoe as my nonsexual OT3 of eternal love. You all-time favourite episode of DW: For new series…I really enjoyed WWIII, actually, but Dalek probably wins. For old series, I’m still woefully behind, but The Mind Robber was fantastic. What name you go by: Melata, or Melissa in RL. What your LJ is like: Rambles, squee, fanfiction… bit of a pick and mix, really. Oh, and some RL stuff, on occasion. Mostly Who fandom, because a) it has eaten my soul, and b) it has everything I love. There are other fandoms as well, on occasion. Favourite characters: New Series, or old? Because there are a lot of characters. All Doctors, Romana, Ace, Jo, Brig, all of UNIT, Jamie, Victoria, Ian, Barbara, Susan, Leela, Rose, Jabe, Jack, Gwyneth, Mickey, Jackie, and Harriet. That Friending Frenzy is really neat because I definitely need more Whovians on my f-list. What name you go by: Aervir What your LJ is like:: A mixture of memes, a bit of RL stuff, random rants, occasional movie reviews, and fandom-related blathering (concerning Tolkien, various Age of Sail stuff, and Doctor Who 2005). Name on lj: spiralsheep My lj: what you see is what you get. I tend to post (less than once per day) about whatever is interesting me at the time because I hope it’ll interest other people too. It seems to have worked so far. Favourite Doctors: fourth, seventh, ninth, and hopefully tenth! Favourite companions: Ace, Rose, Sarah Jane, and and and… Favourite monsters or baddies: the Cybermen are probably my favourites but I love most of them… funfur yetis, plastic dummies, glowy binbags in pits… Favourite ‘ships: I don’t ship. I’m not against shippiness but I am oblivious to it. I could perhaps see the fourth Doctor and Romana II if I tried extremely hard. :-) Favourite episode: I like most of them even some of the truly atrocious ones (although I probably like the bad ones for all the wrong reasons). What name you go by: Kay What your LJ is like: Cracked-out fandom (Like House Bingo and The Fandom Death Pool, seriously, very cracked), along with lots of fanfic from lots of various TV shows, a smidge of emo blathering, locked illegal bits (like new DW for my fellow Americans), and the occasional political rant. That’s quite all right- but I believe the original idea (and term Friending Frenzy) came from mctabby, over in HP fandom. :D So I can’t take full credit for the idea. ;)

Leela’s a favorite, of course. I desparately wanted to be Leela when I was small. Ace, for certain, and dammit, I still hold a special place in my heart for Adric. What name you go by: I’m Red Scharlach for all fandom purposes, but them wot know me call me Jill. What your LJ is like: I would like to think it’s like an evening in the pub with an excitable and somewhat silly friend who gets a bit opinionated after a couple of gin and tonics. There is fandom blethering (Who-stuff is on the rise, Harry Potter is on the wane), ramblings about TV, films, food, London life and other pop-culture bits and bobs that catch my attention, and occasionally a bit of Real Life in a cavalier attempt to prove that I actually exist. Favourite characters: To all intents and purposes, I’m a new series Jenny-come-lately, so I’m all about the lovely Doctor. quiet_snowfall directed me over here, and as I’d love to have more Doctor Who-loving friends, I thought I’d give it a stab. :) What name you go by: My name is Tara, though some friends still call me Teru from an old alias I used back in the day. What your LJ is like:Nothing particularly exciting – I don’t tend to post that often. When I do post, though, my entries are usually pretty long and comprehensive because I feel like I need to get everything in. I usually talk about bands (I’m mostly into indie pop and rock and stuff – my holy trinity of bands are Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and Belle & Sebastian, but I love a whole host of others, too) and I sometimes talk about things such as Harry Potter and so on. The Doctor Who talk has increased lately in my anticipation for the new 2006 season. Favourite characters: The Doctor, obviously. Particularly Four, because he was the one I watched most before the new series started, and also Nine and Ten because I just love having my own Doctors for my generation. I liked Romana too, she always had something smart to say. And I have a soft spot for K9 and his silly voice. ♥ Favourite ships: Anything and everything; I’m easy. You all-time favourite episode of DW: I can never choose! They’re all entertaining in one way or another. I’ve forgotten the names of the old school episodes I’ve seen as well – City of Death is one though, I think. In the new series, I thought Father’s Day was heartbreakingly fantastic, but I really can’t choose. Favourite flavour of ice cream: I like them all, though certain flavours by Ben & Jerry’s are very good… Feel free to add me. I’m a bit longwinded sometimes, as my form shows, but don’t let that put you off. Don’t let my cluttered userinfo turn you away either – I have a habit of adding anyone who adds me, and joining too many communities that I can’t bear to part with. Oh, and I’m Irish and live in Ireland currently, though I spent 10+ years of my life living in Northampton in England, so I’m a strange Anglo-Hibernian mix of a person. Other things I love are Monty Python (especially Michael Palin) and other classic comedy series, anime/manga (though not as much as I used to), Japanese music (especially a band called GLAY), youth culture (mods, rockers, punks, teddies, etc.) and scooters (Vespa and Lambretta). Whew!

Woot! I had a look at your entry too, and we love a lot of British comedy! Spaced, Little Britain, The Young Ones, Father Ted, ‘Allo ‘Allo, Blackadder, Bottom – I grew up with and love them all! Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran are hilarious also. If you want more comedians to look into, I can recommend some Irish ones to you. I can see us having many conversations about this sort of thing. ♥ I also love HP, LotR, and a lot of the same music you do. And… well, I don’t watch The Professionals, but it has a damn cool theme tune. I can overlook the marzipan (brrr), lol. Thanks for adding me!

heh heh, i find with marzipan, people either really love it or really hate it! but yep, grew up with blackadder and bottom and my mum used to try and stop me watching it cos i was only about 7 years old!!! have you seen Bill or Dylan live? i’ve seen them both and they are HILARIOUS! And very nice blokes- met them afterwards… with the added bonus of bumping into Simon Pegg when i met Bil..!! wahoo!!! going to see Dylan in May this year… can;t WAIT!!!! You should definitely check out the Pros… especially if you like Doctor Who- same era and all that :)

Yeah, I hate marzipan, eugh. Lol, I remember being slightly traumatised by Bottom when I was little. Not so much with any other series, though. And no, I haven’t seen them live… they don’t really tend to come to Ireland often (and most people only come to Dublin, which I live nowhere near) but I’d love to see them. I’ve just seen them on telly and on DVD. That’s cool that you got to meet them! What’s the Pros then? I am curious.

Well, since he’s Irish I’d expect him to come back sometime! If he’s ever in Dublin when I’m not at school I could try and see him – organising a trip up there takes some planning (it’s 5 hours’ drive away, but I go up there for concerts a lot), but it’d be great to see him live. He was hilarious on the DVD I saw.

What your LJ is like: A rather rambling, disparate collection of whatever happens to be crossing my mind, with occasional angst and lots of twittering about my hobbies – costuming, LARPing and writing.
