Tonight, from the freaky dream department-
I was in a cinema and I was running around seeing virtually every film I could. Then I went to see- it wasn’t Serenity, but it sort of mentioned Serenity, so at that point I thought, ‘Ooh, I should’ve seen that instead! Is it out yet?’. And at the end of the movie I was watching, this random critic did his film review right there, projecting his ‘scores’ for everything (characters, plot etc) right onto the screen. He gave it 0/10. Then he showed us this weird cartoon (it had a very sexist title, but I can’t remember it), and then we were sort of in the cartoon- it started getting really freaky then, because all the women had to wear blue hooded outfits all the time, and if we wanted to do anything we had to disguise as men. So it started getting like The Handmaid’s Tale (the book I got an A on yay)- at the beach all the women had to stay together and not go in the water, and we were all given one pencil each and if we lost it or broke it or dropped it in the sea we’d get into trouble. And there were people on the beach writing fanfiction- I even remember what movie they were writing fanfiction for, it was Brokeback Mountain, a movie I know virtually nothing about- and when you looked at the beach from above (which you couldn’t do in reality, but hey, it was a dream) there was a huge crowd of different colours and small patches of blue near the seas.
Then I was walking home with one of my friends (I know why she was in there- it was because I was thinking yesterday about how we’d drifted apart) and I started talking about how this was exactly like The Handmaid’s Tale and where were all the cameras? Were there any in the house? And then I woke up.
It woukd make a great science fiction novel if it hadn’t been done already. :p
