Im more particular to “God Help the Outcasts” but I think thats the song you meant as I dont remember that one from the movie. XD I could be wrong. Ive seen the movie like two or three times in the past however many years its been available to the public

Actually, ‘God have mercy on me’ is a line of Frollo’s during his ‘Deata Maria’ song (the part of the song he sings after Quasimodo sings ‘Heaven’s Light’)…..

And just to join in on all the nitpicking, the line is “Beata Maria” and the song itself is called “Hellfire”.;)

I love that film! It’s so different from normal Disney films; it’s so dark. The guy doesn’t end up with the girl. Frollo is one of the most interesting, deepest Disney baddies ever. He has hatred, but also lust, desire and religion. He does all sorts of evil things, but he still prays. He doesn’t kill his deformed, illegitimate son. The film doesn’t go quite as dark as the book, but it goes further than any other Disney film. Alas, my video player went crazy and ate my Hunchback of Notredame video :( I want to watch it again… Not taking any, but fab icons XD.

Agreed!!!!! It’s my favorite Disney movie out of all of them, because it is so dark, and there is quite a bit of symbolism in it….I dunno if the directors intended to put the symbolism in there, but it’s there all the same. And I have to agree, Frollo is definitely one of the most complex/coolest villains ever….probably because he’s so…well, human, y’know?

Oh my god, I love you. Hunchback has got to be my most favorite Disney movie of all time, but the poor thing barely gets any recognition. It’s about time someone posted some icons! Snagged all of them; will credit!!!!!!!!

I haven’t seen it – maybe I ought to just buy it, seeing as I love my Disney and I’ve heard good things about this one – not to mention that I’ve heard a certain voice artist I love does one of the voiceovers in it… ;) I reckon Hercules is a pretty hard-done-to Disney film, as well – it’s so witty, clever and gorgeous-looking, I don’t know why more people don’t appreciate it!

I’ve seen “Hunchback” now – hey, it is good. In fact, I reckon it’s perhaps the least child-friendly Disney movie I’ve ever seen; it all oozes of our typical conception of the Middle Ages, of persecution, torture and stringent religious practises, all of which is personified by the character of Frollo (who’s wonderfully voiced by Tony Jay, who has a gorgeous voice ^_~). I’m gonna snag 15 and 16. Will cred’.
