Jewish protesters and allies marched on Trump transition HQ to demand that he #FireBannon
On Thursday morning, a group of more than 200 protesters affiliated with IfNotNow, a progressive organization of American Jews, marched into President-elect Trump’s transition headquarters in Washington, D.C., to demand he fire Stephen Bannon. The march also addressed other Jewish organizations that have remained silent.

With Trump’s election and the threat of fascism, Twitter user Raphael Bob-Waksberg reminds us of Martin Niemöller’s words after WWIII:
“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

There were so many moments, any of which SHOULD have been the step too far.
Whenever he said something horrible, offensive, sexist, out of place, inappropriate, I was like “okay, now they drop him as a candidate… I mean, they can’t keep him.”
But nothing happened.
Next time: “Las time they have gone over it, but now he has really said unacceptable things, they can’t…”
Next time: “Is he still here? Seriously?”
Next time: “But how can they…?”
Next time: “You know what? I give up, I’ll never understand.”I’ve heard why time and again from men on the street, in supermarkets, in barber shops : “We like him because he says what everybody’s thinking anyway and doesn’t care about being politically correct.” Think about THAT for a moment.
No one ever went broke underestimating either the taste or the basic decency of the American public.
Donald Trump names Reince Priebus chief of staff and Steve Bannon as counselor
Donald Trump made one of the most significant initial choices regarding the composition of his future presidential administration choosing Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus as his future chief of staff and appointing former Breitbart chief executive Stephen Bannon as special counselor. Trump’s statement regarding the appointment is chilling.
