I mean, in all fairness, I don’t THINK Tregenna cared much about the sci fi element in TWWD? It’s just not a criticism, because Doctor Who is barely bordering on sci fi and plenty of times writers show a wonderful disregard for it in a variety of different ways. Mathieson was hardly interested in that element in TGWD and Harness had an episode on the moon which couldn’t have cared less about ‘science’. Tregenna is merely joining their ranks, with a wonderful study in characters and themes. -tillthenexttimedoctor

This also seems to be a fair point! (I do agree that Doctor Who is much, much more fantasy than sci-fi. Or at least, it’s sci-fi in the same way that Star Wars is sci-fi.)
