So the gf and I were watching a show about primates on Netflix and it came to a segment about baboons.
I dunno if you guys know about baboons, but… They’re generally a bunch of fuckheads. The variety of baboon the show was focused on was especially aggressive and EXTREMELY patriarchal. Like, it was just ten minutes of the males beating the fuck out of their females, going to war with other tribes to get more females, and then beating the shit out of females who were unsuccessfully stolen during said war.
We watched in silence for a little while and then the gf says, “… Do you think Rafiki condemned his people’s violent lifestyle, and that’s why he was so wise but still lived in isolation?”
Headcanon accepted.
