This may not be the first pair of Star Wars-inspired shoes we’ve seen this year, but these awesome BB-8 Heels are by far the geekiest. Instructables editor Mikeasaurus(previously featured here) replaced the 2″ heels on a pair of white pumps with spinning mini BB-8 droids and then decorated the rest of each shoe to match.

Head over to the Instructables project page for complete step-by-step process info.

DIY SHATTER ME SHOES

I have two great loves in this world: shoes and books. I wanted to have some fun combining these two ideas, so I decided to grab a pair of old boots and the book that started it all: SHATTER ME. It’s a story about a girl with a lethal touch; but at its core it’s a book about a girl with a fractured heart and mind, and how she learns to put the pieces of herself back together. These shoes are about just that: proof that not only can you recover from being beaten and broken, but you can take what’s left and become something even more beautiful. Something that shines.

Enter: SHATTER ME Shoes.

I created these boots using a pair of dearly loved but worn-to-bits Jeffrey Campbells (Brisbanes – original here), about 50 broken mirrors (purchased from my local craft store), and some really intense adhesive

hope you guys have fun crafting (and reading!)!

YOU ARE A TOTAL BAMF

For my first assignment in class, we were to buy a shoe and customise it to our inspiration. I decided to bade mine on bakery/sweets/desserts. Because in the past I use to do decoden, I decided to incorporate it into my shoe as I thought it went well with inspiration. The fruits are made from Polymer clay and painted with acrylics, glazed with sparkly nail polish as I left my glaze at home. The Swiss roll heel is made from Air drying clay and painted with acrylics. Both the filling and piped cream is white silicone.

I added more piping but don’t have a nice enough photo so this is the near finished design! Pretty please how it turned out!
