I saw Pacific Rim Uprising today and (like most of you?) I was disappointed. Woe

A few actual thoughts:

  • Mako’s pointless, fridge-y death pretty much put me off the rest of the movie. And then she barely gets a mention again until the end? Gah. It’s honestly kinda insulting, is what it is.
  • I’m assuming the blonde military girl is the child of the Russian pilots from the first one, although it’s never said
  • There was definitely something between Jake and Nate. Like, Jake even outright says “he’s handsome and sexy!” and their joint backstory is so vague anything could’ve happened? But this is a Hollywood movie, so, nuffin’. I hope it takes off as a ship though.
  • Sorry to fans of Newt, that kinda sucks, especially if a threequel never happens (Uprising hasn’t actually broken even yet so who knows)
  • GOD. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO MAKO. WHY
