It has been announced today that Frances Barber will return to her role as the villainous Madame Kovarian in the third series of The Diary of River Song.
Barber played the role of Kovarian in the sixth series of Doctor Who in 2011 alongside Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor as she worked against the Time Lord in order to kidnap the child of his companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, the child who would grow up to be River Song, played by Alex Kingston.
The Diary of River Song is an audio-series produced by Big Finish and has run for two successful series which has so far seen River meet-up with the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Doctors.
Series 3 will add yet another Doctor to River Song’s list as she meets up with the Fifth Doctor played by Peter Davison.
River, Kovarian and The Doctor will appear in four brand new adventures
3.1 – The Lady in the Lake by Nev Fountain
3.2 – A Requiem for the Doctor by Jac Rayner
3.3 – My Dinner With Andrew by John Dorney
3.4 – The Furies by Matt Fitton
The Diary of River Song: Series 3 will be released in January 2018.

Finn’s in a bad way at the end of VII. He has a lot of issues. He got slashed with a saber, and that took him down real hard, so he’s in a coma,” the actor says. “That suit, that whole thing helps him to recover. But we’re not sure whether that means he’ll wake up.”
Spoiler: He wakes up. But he’s not exactly good as new.
“There’s some additional few things that need to be done to make him mobile. He’s definitely in a place where he needs some help,” Boyega says.
“It’s a grounding injury. It’s going to take him some time to get back on the ball. But when he does… oh, he does,” Boyega says.
“It’s Finn and Rose, they’re on a massive adventure. It’s a big mission they need to complete,” Boyega says. “The Resistance is under immense pressure, and it’s time for them to get a bit of help. That’s where Finn and Rose come in, and they’re thrust into a crazy adventure.
Things I’ve done when I’m certain I’ll never get around to actually writing the fic:
– Write a post describing the fic idea in order to inspire others to write it in my stead
– Write a post outlining the fic’s entire plot or premise just so *something* can exist for people to read
– Make a gif set based on the idea
And occasionally I do one of the things above and I suddenly find the motivation. So even if the fic doesn’t get finished in a long while, at least people got a taste of it and I can bask in their approval.
But generally, if I really want the fic to exist, I need to sit the fuck down and write the thing in spite of lacking motivation because discipline is the only way I’ll ever finish anything. I have depression and I can’t simply rely on motivation to get me through.
