canary-cassidy:

Pom Klementieff is one of the strongest women in the world, and I will be saying this until my last dying breath. This woman has lived through the death of her father at the age of five, and in the aftermath of that traumatic event, her schizophrenic mother was no longer able to care for Pom and her brother so they were adopted by their paternal aunt and uncle.

Then her uncle/adoptive father died on her 18th birthday.

Then her brother committed suicide on her 25th birthday.

But Pom Klementieff kept going. Any of those experiences individually would be incredibly hard to get through, but going through all of that shit? I think just about anybody else would’ve just laid down and given up, but our girl Pom didn’t. She didn’t just persevere, she thrived.

After the death of her uncle, she went to law school for her aunt’s sake, but she didn’t like it, so she decided to be an actress. You know, one of the hardest professions to break into and be successful in. Not to mention one of the hardest professions to be successful in as an Asian woman.

And she fucking succeeded at that too. Pom’s performances have always been incredibly solid, and then she became Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

And then the orphaned French girl who didn’t give up reprised her role in Infinity War, the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, and currently the fourth highest grossing movie of all time. (With the potential to move even higher up the list). And she was a memorable and entertaining part of a movie with about a million other people in it. (”Kick names, take ass!”)

Pom Klementieff is not just an inspiration to me, she should be an inspiration to us all. She’s been to hell and back, and you know what? She’s still saying that it’s okay, because there are people who have had it much worse.

Pom Klementieff isn’t an MCU headliner, but she deserves as much respect as any of the top players of the MCU cast. I have am absolutely sure that the MCU will be a stepping stone to bigger and better roles for Pom. (She’s on my “probable future Oscar Winners” list).

But even if she doesn’t, I hope she’s satisified with knowing that she’s achieved more than most people who’ve gone through what she has wouldn’t have been able to come close to. This is going to sound a little silly, but she honestly inspires me everyday with the fact that she never gives up.

So lets all be sure to show Pom Klementieff how much we appreciate and love her, and how much she inspires us, whenever we have the oppurtunity to do so.
