God i just love the prequels bc they’re so good and “happy” in the first two and you get attached to Ani bc damn he’s just a cute lil thing and who wouldn’t love him?
and then you get to revenge of the sith and you’re just like oh bc you remember what happens, you know what happens to that innocent little boy and it’s just so sad
you look at Vader in a new light after you watch the prequels and you sense the sadness obi wan felt and it just sets it up so well and god i love those movies
my first attempt at woodburning
I would like to thank dril for the inspiration
I can’t wait to live in a future where this quote is as ubiquitous and misattributed and misunderstood as many classic Shakespearean lines and other historical quotes. I’m genuinely looking forward to that.
“I can get you mermaids. What were you doing before you – how did you say you got here?”
“I looked under my bed for monsters and fell.”
Scribble scribble. “Before that, what were you doing?”
“We just moved and -”
“Hang on -” Papers rustle. “Which of the following best describes your attitude: excitement about your new opportunities, apprehension about your new school or neighborhood, resentment at loss of old friends and familiar settings, or other?”
“….what does resentment mean?”
“It means you’re mad that they were taken away.”
“That one.”
“Okay. And, fingerprints here in case you take longer on your quest than you’re supposed to and we need to do a locator spell; and would you like a dagger, magic wand, animal companion, or bow and arrows?”
“I only get one?”
“You can combine the animal companion with another option if you fill out form 37-J -”
“I’ll just take the magic wand.”
“There’s a bin of them by the door; take one and then recite this fairy-summoning chant to call a guide fairy and be led to your destination.” Stamp, check, peeling of carbon paper. “This is your copy. Next!”
i love everything about prequels and clone wars-era star wars so much… i love the politics, the insight we have into galactic and interplanetary affairs… i love the vibrance of the people, the uniqueness of the alien races and cultures and languages… i love the fashion and the design… i love the incredible, out-of-this-world technology, the seamless blending of the mysterious Force and futuristic science… i love the diversity of the planets, from the endless cities of coruscant, to the stormy skies of kamino, to the dark fuorescence of umbara… i love meeting and getting to know senators, bounty hunters, slaves, jedi and sith alike, as complex individuals…. i just think it’s so special to be able to experience the star wars universe in its prime, before it all fell so tragically to war and corruption, and i really love the prequels and treasure them so much because of that. to me, there’s nothing like them, and that’s why they’ll always have such a special place in my heart.
the first ghostbusters trailer dropped and as i expected it’s getting flooded with dislikes because of angry dudebros who hate that a team of women are now apart of their precious franchise…. reading the comments is so disheartening i truly hope the movie gets excellent reviews and thrives at the box office
Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 1) #123 Writer: Gerry Conway, Pencils: Gil Kane, John Romita
For all the issues I have with Gwen’s death, I love the period after where Peter is trying to deal and MJ is trying to help while being way way way out of her emotional depth and knowing that she is and trying anyway.
