A note about the Olympics opening ceremony

There wasn’t much Doctor Who- I think we can safely assume any Who stuff was part of the section that was cut. (Which would have also featured Monty Python and Coronation Street, apparently.)
But! Someone went to great lengths to ensure that there was a Doctor Who reference anyway. A tiny one, but still- they didn’t have to do that. I thought that was really good of them.

It’s kind of irritating now all the posts wanting David to light the flame.
An athlete always lights it because it’s, you know, the olympics.

They’re not going to hijack a ceremony seven years in the making just to make a Doctor Who reference!
As cool as that would be.
