Probably my favorite thing about the Star Wars resurgence is the sudden love and defense of Hayden Christensen
It’s like we all looked around and realized the nerdy fuckboys who hated him in the early 2000s are gone and we can love him in peace and there’s just so much Hayden appreciation rn I hope he knows how much we love him
He seems like a really nice guy, he didn’t deserve that.
(Let’s turn our attention to Jake Lloyd next, who really, really did not deserve that at NINE YEARS OLD.)

—Was convinced money grew on trees after his older sister glued pennies on a tree in their yard.
—Is allergic to bees.
—Once got stung by a school of jellyfish
—Would get drunk with Ewan McGregor during AOTC filming
—Was so nervous that he threw up on the plane on the way to his audition with
Natalie Portman for Star Wars.
—Once fell 15 feet off a cliff. Everyone, himself included,
thought he died.
—When he found out he got the role of Anakin Skywalker, him and his roommate put on jockstraps, turned on the Star Wars soundtrack, pretended they had lightsabers and had as he puts it, “This EPIC battle.”
—Loved Curious George as a child and has an entire volume of the books.
—Cites Disney’s Robin Hood and the Princess Bride as his childhood favorites.
—Went through a phase where he was obsessed with the show “He-man.”
—His basement is full of Star Wars memorabilia.
—During AOTC filming his pants would split during fight scenes.
—He would imitate the lightsaber noise during filming.
—Hayden and his siblings used to love to pretend they were injured and upset their mother.
They would throw themselves down the stairs and pretend they were hurt. One day
at McDonalds, Hayden was swinging back and forth in his chair and it flew
forward. His mouth slammed onto the edge of the table, split open and started
bleeding and then he fell backwards onto the floor. His mother yelled at him
and told him to stop misbehaving. After a moment she realized he wasn’t playing
a trick on her and was legitimately injured.
—One night during AOTC filming, after he had gone drinking with Ewan Mcgregor, he went
swimming in the ocean at Bondi Beach in a drunk stupor.
—As a child he owned a pair of bright orange MC Hammer parachute pants.
—Has two pet pigs he likes to watch Iron Chef with.

So I was listening to the radio (HOT 99.5) and they were talking about the new TFA trailer and in the back of my mind I was thinking, “Just keeping talking about that please don’t mention the prequels. Just please don’t because I know you guys are just going to talk shit about them and I don’t want to hear it. Let’s just have a good time.”
But then one of the radio DJs starting talking about how much she loved Hayden Christensen and it got quiet for a minute.
I thought she was going to get attacked for saying that so I held my breath.
Well, she had met Hayden once and when they were on the elevator together, a little kid and his mother got on and the kid was completely starstruck by him. She said Hayden did the cutest thing and started talking to the little kid in his Anakin Skywalker voice and explained why he was in regular clothes and not in his Jedi Robes. He said he was on a mission and the kid just lost it. He was so excited. (I would probably lose it too even though I’m not a little kid haha).
Everyone on the radio station suddenly exploded saying things like “AWW THAT’S THE CUTEST THING EVER!!! I LOVE HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN NOW!”
Then some guy started talking about how he was Jedi Apprentice mailing list as a kid. And no one said one bad thing about the movies.
It was great.
