There’s a certain subset of Doctor Who fans that just will not shut up about how unrealistic it is to have characters of colour in the “historical” episodes. (Think the kids from Thin Ice, or the Roman soldiers in The Eaters of Light.) They bring it up all the fucking time, in completely unrelated discussions, in discussions about completely different TV shows –

Whenever an incident involving a famous person sexually harassing/assaulting women comes out, there’s always a particular strand of man who, when you state your outrage, pops up to say “Why didn’t you do anything about it while it was happening then?”

Because I didn’t know about it, was in a different country and was sixteen years old, asshole.
