I adjusted the time frame, only by a couple of hours, any other day it wouldn’t make any difference, but this is Christmas 1914, and a human miracle is about to happen. The Christmas Armistice. It never happened again. Any war, anywhere. But for one day, one Christmas, a very long time ago… everyone just put down their weapons, and started to sing. Everybody just stopped. Everyone was just kind.
It’s just occurred to me that Bill and Clara act as each other’s spiritual guardians in a strange sort of way at the beginning and the end of Series 10.
In The Pilot, it’s the memory, or rather the lack thereof, of Clara that convinces the Doctor not to wipe Bill’s mind, and subsequently invite her to travel with him in the TARDIS. Clara’s legacy changes everything for her.
In Twice Upon a Time, as one last gift, Bill gives the Doctor back his memories of Clara, almost like she’s returning the favour. Bill’s compassion and hope finally heals the wounds left when he forgot her, bringing them the closure they needed.
These two women never met onscreen, yet they both did the most wonderful thing for each other and for the Doctor. I love Bill Potts and Clara Oswald and their silly old Doctor so much.

– Clara met the Doctor as a child, helped them choose their TARDIS, changed their mind about destroying Gallifrey and got them a new regeneration cycle.
– Got her own TARDIS and companion.
– She attended the Doctor Who Proms celebration with Matt in 2013 and the Doctor Who world tour with Peter in 2014, among many other big events for the show.
– She’s technically the first woman to have top billing for a Doctor Who story and her face in the titles.
– Her cameo in Twice Upon a Time was the last thing Steven Moffat ever filmed for the show.

One night, at the end of an
exciting adventure where they broke a space casino, and freed some
cruelly treated horses, she made a slight criticism of him, that was not
only true, but insightful, helpful and loving. He took it like a man.
