Doctor Who: A Good Man Goes To War

MIND IS BLOWN

The beginning, where you assume Amy’s talking about the Doctor but she’s talking about Rory? MY LITTLE SHIPPER HEART EXPLODED. I have reached Shipper Nevada. I never thought I’d say that. I thought she was talking about the Doctor when she said ‘The last of his kind’. But actually it makes sense, because Rory is the last Roman in the world, I suppose. Sort of.

But oh em gee, Rory was awesome and Amy was awesome and the Doctor was awesome and all the supporting characters were awesome. I loved the Sontaran (Strax?) and the kickass Silurian (and partner.) Bit weird that we’ve had two Jennys in a row though. And Lorma! What was her deal?

I liked the gay Clerics, and am sad that one of them died. Unless the Doctor swooped in and saved him (we never saw him actually lose his head, after all.) That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.

RORY IS A TOTAL BADASS. Also a dad. How lovely were the bits with the baby? And Rory wanted the Doctor to be part of it too. Awww. I LOVE THAT SCENE where Rory walks in holding the baby. It was gorgeous.

Funny how Rory is a nurse who became a warrior and Strax is a warrior who became a nurse.

Has the relationship between the Doctor and Amy (and Rory) changed for the worse now? It’s not entirely his fault that the baby was captured, but he didn’t save her. And she seemed pretty angry. I hope things aren’t going to change too much, because I miss the fun episodes where everyone’s friends.

And BABY is River. I admit I saw it coming, but there’s still a few more questions to be answered. And next they get to kill Hitler…

Doctor Who: The Almost People

HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE LEAST KID-FRIENDLY FAMILY SHOW EEEEEVER

HUGE PILE OF DEAD MELTING BODIES WTF

AMMMMMMMMMMMY. Just to establish, she wasn’t a ganger leading an indepedent life, like Jennifer and the others were, she was more an avatar, right? Controlled by the real Amy, just not her physically. Which explains how she can be pregnant and not pregnant at the same time.

DUDE, BABY, WAT. She can’t have the baby, surely, cos…well, that would send Amy and Rory straight back to Leadworth, and yet we can safely assume that’s not gonna happen. Is it an alien baby? And wow, did anyone else get shades of the X-Files when Amy woke up in that white room?

Rory…I don’t like that his ganging (hah) with Jennifer could almost be a betrayal of Amy. When they were in that room and the door closed shutting Amy and the Doctor in, who closed it, Rory or Jennifer? If it was Jennifer, that makes me feel a bit better, because…dude, Rory would never ever everrrr put Amy in danger. That’s sort of a big thing.

If the ganger Doctor and the real Doctor were switched from the beginning, does that mean it was the real Doctor pushing Amy up against the wall? Because that kind of…doesn’t sit well.

OMG A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR. Who’s seen the prequel? Because it kind of hints that the Doctor is the father of the child. (Whether it was concieved by traditional means, however…) Anyway.

Doctor Who: The Rebel Flesh

Liked it, mostly, but didn’t love it, oh noes

Rory has a female friend who he’s getting somewhat close to and Amy is jealous. Not sure what to make of this, will check back after the conclusion. Anyone know what Moffat said on Confidental regarding Rory and Jennifer? I had to miss Confidental as went to see Pirates Of The Carribbean. (Which is good, by the way. Not as good as the first though.)

The opening scene was fabulous, really weird and scary.

I’m loving Amy in these episodes. Sometimes I miss the old, slightly nasty Amy (the one who would call Rory an idiot in passing) but…I like her. Whatever she’s like.

Doctor Who: The Doctor’s Wife

And I loved that one too.

‘The only water in the forest is the River’. So no Ponds, then?

I HEART IDRIS, she was wonderful. I wish they’d found a way to keep her around for longer. Bet the Doctor won’t hit her with a hammer again.

Rory is the pretty one and Amy’s just ‘orangy’. Arthur Darvill must be glad he gets to be pretty after all the nose-poking last year.

Amy’s vision of ‘delight’ is her wedding. I said ‘awwww’ out loud.

Rory’s sudden bearded madness…was that all in Amy’s head, or does ‘you left me’ hold a hint to the future? Oh man, I hope not. Rory and Amy were great as usual, of course. Amy held her stomach when screaming in terror, which is another mark on the ‘she’s pregnant’ list…

Did I see eyepatch lady in the Next Time? I think I did.

Amy, giving up

Spoilers for the last episode!

I might just put it down to bad writing, but it’s odd how the script makes a very big deal about Rory believing Amy will never give up on him, and then she sort of does. Understandably, but all the same.

I’m looking in every episode for Arc Things now. I do wonder if there was more to Rory’s return to life, because Amy had stopped CPR-ing and he just…came back. I’ll laugh if the Silence did it…

Doctor Who: The Curse Of The Black Spot

LOVED IT

OH MY GOD THEY KILLED RORY, THOSE BASTARDS. Was he dead before Amy revived him? If so he’s died more than anyone apart from the Doctor and Jack. Wowzers.

Of course, that brings me to the lovely Amy/Rory bits, which were…adorable. And Amy actually got jealous. Wonder if that’s an end to her flirting once and for all? (Probably not.) It annoys me a teeny bit that Rory doesn’t save Amy from being dragged off by the pirates in the beginning, but I suppose there was nothing he could really have done. Plus, she can, as demonstrated, look after herself.

I just really like that the two of them bring out the best in each other- he’s brave for her, she’s kind for him, and so on. Not that they aren’t wonderful people anyway, but…I just love them as a pair. This is hands down an A+ Rory/Amy episode, and I approve. Yayz!

omg, Arthur Darvill’s drunk acting when hypnotised by the Siren!

Hey, no-one died this episode! Right? The crew can’t leave their new ship, but they’re all alive. Oh wait, the aliens are dead. Still…love that the Siren was a doctor and not a murderous ghosty thing, loved the ‘consent form’, loved Amy’s outfit, loved the whole cast, loved all this episode, really. Yayz again!

(no subject)

Pondering Amy’s dialogue in Day Of The Moon…you know, that bit.

“I know you think it ought to be him,” bugs me somewhat, because I think we’ve gathered that there’s no way Rory would think his wife ought to be with someone else. Unless it’s just some sort of figure of speech, her latching on to Rory’s huge insecurity. I don’t know…

I wonder- and this is a really weird theory, but- I wonder if something is trying to split up Amy and Rory. If maybe the Silents made her sound like she loved the Doctor in a attempt to get Rory to leave her, because for some reason it’s incredibly important that Amy and Rory have a kid. Can Amy actually remember saying those things? Because it’s obvious something was happening to her during the time she was with the Silents…

The ‘fell out of the sky’ bit has me confused too…Amy says right out that it’s a figure of speech, but I’m so so sure there’s more to it. Someone suggested over at GB that maybe when little Amelia met Rory he fell out of a tree or something, which I heart because of the cuteness, but I can’t help wonder if we’re coming back to that. It would be such a Moffat thing to do, to make us all think there’s something weird about Amy and then have it be Rory we should’ve been paying attention to…

Doctor Who: Day Of The Moon

My little shipper heart has both exploded and had a heart attack, and my brain is CONFUSED

Who’s the woman Amy saw? Why does she look like River? (She does!) Is Amy pregnant or not? Is Rory the father? Is River AWESOME or BAMFAWESOME?

Oh, Rory. :( Amy was talking about him, I’m sure she was, but I think there’s more to it than that as well. I HEART Amy/Rory, it’s the only ship I…well, have. But when Rory thinks Amy loves the Doctor and just gets on with it anyway, and promises Amy to bring the Doctor to her? MY HEART. :(

River refers to ‘my old fella’…possibly meaning her father…while Rory’s there. Okay, look away now if you don’t actively seek out spoilers…there’s been a lot of speculation that River is Amy and Rory’s kid, and I’m pretty sure she is, now. Unless that line was meant to throw us off the scent.

Why didn’t the Doctor question what Amy meant, back when she yelled ‘Saving you!’?

Why do you TORTURE US, MOFFAT?
