Pondering Amy’s dialogue in Day Of The Moon…you know, that bit.
“I know you think it ought to be him,” bugs me somewhat, because I think we’ve gathered that there’s no way Rory would think his wife ought to be with someone else. Unless it’s just some sort of figure of speech, her latching on to Rory’s huge insecurity. I don’t know…
I wonder- and this is a really weird theory, but- I wonder if something is trying to split up Amy and Rory. If maybe the Silents made her sound like she loved the Doctor in a attempt to get Rory to leave her, because for some reason it’s incredibly important that Amy and Rory have a kid. Can Amy actually remember saying those things? Because it’s obvious something was happening to her during the time she was with the Silents…
The ‘fell out of the sky’ bit has me confused too…Amy says right out that it’s a figure of speech, but I’m so so sure there’s more to it. Someone suggested over at GB that maybe when little Amelia met Rory he fell out of a tree or something, which I heart because of the cuteness, but I can’t help wonder if we’re coming back to that. It would be such a Moffat thing to do, to make us all think there’s something weird about Amy and then have it be Rory we should’ve been paying attention to…

I thought she said “I know you think it ALL to be him”, not “ought”?

Hmmm, could have been…

I can see Rory falling off or out of something, and that being the meaning of Amy saying the whole bit of ‘dropping out of the sky’. And I don’t know if you’d want to know spoilers in terms of casting for the latter bit.

I think I know the spoiler, and I rather like it. :D

You don’t think the Doctor’s had that big an influence on her life for her to have an obsession bordering on romance for him? She must have talked about him a LOT and it’d definitely play into Rory’s insecurities. That said, I’m not sure we’ve ever seen Rory being insecure about Amy and the Doctor. As for “falling out of the sky” I’m convinced that’s because she doesn’t really know it but she can’t remember how she and Rory got together. Makes a lot of sense when you consider she’s had that crack eating up a lot of her life.

Hmm, never thought of that. I’m actually kinda hoping we might get a scene in series six where they meet. Rory seemed to get over his insecurity pretty fast…
