One strange aspect of shipping culture I never got: how Rey/Kylo Ren and Harry/Draco hit almost all the same tropes in terms of Things That Should Never Be Relationship Goals (one caused physical harm to the other, one deliberately hurt the friends of the other, one is a member of a fascist organisation…) and yet one of those ships is universally loathed while the other’s universally loved.
