So, as we mourn Anton Yelchin I want to make a request. Remember that he was Jewish. Don’t talk about his death in christian terms, and don’t erase his heritage. Yelchin spoke about how his grandparents experienced religious persecution under Stalin, etc. I know that his wikipedia page says that “his family is Jewish” but remember that that includes him, and that Yelchin spoke about his family’s Judaism, including talking about how his parents were forbidden by the soviet union from competing as pairs figure skaters at the olympics even though they qualified, noting that he didn’t know if it was because they were Jewish or for some other reason. His Judaism cannot be denied, and I ask that you do not do so while mourning him. He deserves better.

Z"L. May his memory be a blessing.

It’s father’s day, and I have no real time to finish this, but I wanted all my Trekkie friends and family all around the world to have this.
