(fuck not being able to do this as reply) Yeah me too. It was way too “ZYGONS ARE LIKE ISIS” for me, and cool black UNIT lady dying sucked. Honestly I’ve not been feeling this season, which is sad cos I loved the last season so much. -allisbornagain

Same. Very same. :(

I’m really super pissed off about Jac dying, though (assuming she really is dead I guess). I thought she was cool and would be a recurring character, but nope, cannon fodder. I get crosser and crosser the more I think about this episode, to be honest. Maybe I’ll write something up properly tomorrow…

“Clara didn’t kiss Jane Austen! There’s wriggle room (their exact wording) because she might have been relaying information from the Doctor!” I shouldn’t be surprised but this shit makes me want to cry. -allisbornagain

was this on OG? Yeah, that’s depressing

I find it very interesting that there’s a female writer and all of a sudden people on Sandifier’s review are literally saying “Tregenna didn’t care about the sci-fi element”. -allisbornagain

Female writers for Doctor Who always get shit, sadly. :( I still remember very clearly after Helen Raynor’s first episode came out, people took to OG to announce that This Is Why Women Shouldn’t Write For Doctor Who.

Question that might be too mean, but why are Doctor Who fans so… self pitying? It’s never “eh I don’t really like this Doctor, maybe regeneration will be better”, any posts I see are “oh woe I don’t care anymore”. It’s either really bizarre or I’m feeling particularly low on empathy. -allisbornagain

That’s….a really good question. I don’t think it’s unique to Doctor Who fans though (look at what happened to Star Wars fandom!) I think maybe it’s a combination of usual fannish entitlement (I have that too, I think most folks do…), dislike of Moffat as a person, and just general Internet exaggeration.

It can get a little annoying though, especially on GB where everything is exaggerated to heck and also requires several exclamation marks
