Shakespeare Re-Told is on tonight. I’m looking forward to it (Billie Piper is in it, for one thing) but a small part of my brain -the one that’s been doing English Literature for six or so years- is saying crossly, ‘But you *can’t* re-tell Shakespeare. Shakespeare’s language is too darn pretty-it just won’t sound right if they’ve changed everything. You’ll probably hate it!’

Has anyone here ever read Watchmen? I picked up the book in my school library, read it once and didn’t get it, read it a couple more times and loved it. Doesn’t seem to be much of a fandom for it, though, but I did find a usenet conversation from 1986. Which was two years before I was born…
Still. Really ought to take it back to the library soon…
Serenity appears to have pretty much gone from all the local theatres, so I can’t go see it. Bah. Well, I’ll get the DVD-

You know you’re a complete geek when you’re typing in your livejournal wearing a Star Wars t-shirt, and still squeeing over the fact that your Doctor Who scarf came in the mail today*. :D

Yesterday my website went down, slightly inexplicably. I was so close to going round to every screencap/icon post I’ve ever made and saying ‘No! Don’t delete it, they’ll be back up soon!’ but thankfully I was spared. XD
Anyway…yes, I am back. I had a very nice time. Rode both Star Tours and Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland- and bought the t-shirts- and went to Disney Studios, which rocks. And used two diposable camera’s worth of pictures, and saw the Effel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. (Pictures coming soon. How I wish I had a digital camera…)
Oh, and my friendslist went back to about 780. :) Now I must go post at sw_awards…and enter the sw_eu_stills contest too.
See you all on Thursday/Friday -I’m going to Paris for a few days. :D
