AMC Theaters Will No Longer Show Universal Pictures Movies — Entertainment Updates

As someone who once worked in an Odeon for about three months I am totally qualified to comment on this! I got nuffin.

… Okay, on a serious note, this just seems like a really odd decision, and I can’t see a way it won’t backfire. Except it will backfire on regular folks, obviously. You’ll get loads of people who (not having cars and having only AMC theaters within walking distance) not going to the cinema anymore because they’re not longer playing the films they want to see, which in addition to really sucking for them will probably lead to increased film piracy, and then almost inevitably some Odeons etc will close and Past Me will be out of a Past Job, as will lots of people.

The other inevitable thing:

CUSTOMER: Hi, one ticket to No Time To Die, please.

STAFF MEMBER: Sorry, we’re not showing that movie.

CUSTOMER: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE NOT SHOWING THAT MOVIE, YOU WORTHLESS SLOB?

STAFF MEMBER: Well, it all started with Trolls World Tour-

CUSTOMER: THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, I DEMAND TO SEE THE MANAGER, OBVIOUSLY THE MINIMUM WAGE WORKER STANDING BEFORE ME IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF AN ENTIRE COMPANY AND I HATE YOU AND ALL YOUR CHILDREN

So, ur, in conclusion, this appears to be two incredibly rich people throwing tantrums and making things just a tiny bit worse for non-incredibly-rich people…?
