The Cats
It’s just occurred to me after yet another rewatch that whenever fans have discussed meeting other Cats the focus has been almost entirely on Cat and the possibility of him getting lucky with lady Cats. Understandably, as the show itself has made a fairly big thing of that.
But then we finally meet real, genuine female Cats – not polymorphs, hallucinations or dreams – and the subject never even comes up. The female Cats aren’t particularly sexualised – even the Feral guards wore the same basic outfit regardless of gender. In fact, I’d say the only Cat who was sexualised was Rodon with his rather fetching slashed to the thigh kilt.
I think Doug deserves kudos for that. God knows his record in this area is mixed, so credit when it’s due. :)
