hot take: every human being, regardless of their arbitrarily defined moral or tangible value in society, deserves to live, with their basic needs met, with access to community support in a healthy, safe environment

exception: those who would keep others from the same rights based on any form of prejudice

no. no exceptions. none. humanity is not something you can revoke

i genuinely want to know how to keep fascists from revoking the humanity of marginalized groups without revoking the humanity of fascists

It’s really really difficult but it has been done. Like 50% (a rough estimate) of Good Things You Can Make Happen in this world, it revolves primarily around doing stuff you don’t really wanna do.

Honestly? I don’t think doing something like punching a Nazi is really revoking his humanity. If anyone ever came up to me and said “can I punch this nazi” I would say “long as you’re sure he’s a nazi and it’s not a case of mistaken identity, go for it.” Revoking humanity is… something else, something on a higher plane I guess. Different from revoking freedom, because there’s nothing  stopping a prison from being a place where people are provided with basic needs/community support/health support either. Or nothing that should be stopping it.

The other question of course is “how do you revoke someone’s humanity” and I… don’t know.
