Internet rages after Google removes “view image” button, bowing to Getty
This is gonna boost use of Bing way more than any tv commercial campaign could hope
For what it’s worth, there are extensions for both Chrome and Firefox to put the button back. Of course, I still recommend putting something like -getty or -stock on the end of your image search parameters to make sure that Getty doesn’t get any traffic.
THAT’S WHERE IT WENT. I use this for reference photo searching all the time, and I noticed a couple days ago that it was gone. I wondered if it was some kind of browser upgrade glitch.
(Turns out you can also do “copy image address” and paste it into a new browser window; it still works on most images, if not all of them. But still.)
Thanks Google and Getty! Way to make my paying job just that little bit more difficult!
