I finally saw The Cloverfield Paradox today! As a stand-alone movie it is great and as part of whatever the heck the Cloverfield franchise is now it makes almost no sense whatsoever. But still. Every actor involved was at the top of their game, Elizabeth Debicki’s glacial untrustworthiness was used to maximum effect, Gugu Mbatha-Raw absolutely killed it, there was a scene where someone’s own disembodied arm writes them a message, it was jolly good fun.
My only major complaint is that at NO POINT did Chris O’Dowd get to say “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” even when it would have made perfect sense
