I love the prequels so much. I love so many of the characters: Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi-wan Kenobi, Shmi Skywalker, Bail Organa, Qui-Gon Jinn. I love Coruscant and the Jedi temple. I love The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith.
The prequels are so important to me. As a kid I looked up to Padme so much, and I wanted to be just like her. I had Queen Amidala’s Journal and I used to read it over and over. I loved the movies and the characters in them so much. My heart broke for the characters at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
The prequels may not appeal to everyone but they’ll always have a special place in my heart. Watching Attack of the Clones feels like going home; it’s my comfort movie. The prequels brought me so much happiness both as a kid and even now that I’m an adult. Hating the prequels may be considered “cool” but I don’t care about what’s cool. I’d much rather love the prequels as they are because they mean something to me.
People who grew up with the Original Trilogy cherish those movies partly because of the nostalgia, so why can’t I cherish the prequels for the same reason?
