Since it’s December, which is Star Wars Time, here’s a reminder of where I stand in a general sense on Star Wars: the prequels are far from perfect films but the original trilogy is just as flawed as they are in most respects, and I love all of Star Wars including its goofy ridiculous bits except for the racist parts, the racist parts are bad but everything else is lovable and wonderful even if it’s silly and weird and not strictly speaking “good filmmaking” and also if I hear any folks talking about how the prequels are shit compared to the originals I will paint a PVC pipe to look like a lightsaber and then smack you in the head with it. Also The Force Awakens is the best Star Wars film and I will do the smacking thing also if you call Rey a Mary Sue. Thank you for coming to my press conference.
