Finn’s reputation is spreading through the Resistance. As the only stormtrooper known to have broken free from the lifelong conditioning and training of the First Order, he is regarded with admiration and curiosity in equal measure. Although he is being praised as a hero, it’s a description he does not feel applies. All that is driving Finn at the moment is a longing to ensure Rey’s safety. The last thing he recalls seeing before being plunged into unconsciousness was Rey being threatened by Kylo Ren. First Order training psych-logs, not allowing for such deep personal loyalties, would clinically describe Finn’s behavior as ‘imprinting.’ He knows it to be something deeper.
