You know, I think the Machete order suggestion that you lose nothing by cutting out The Phantom Menace shows a serious lack of understanding of the full scope of the tragedy of the prequel trilogy. Qui Gon’s death is the first domino in the descent of the galaxy to the Dark Side; Qui Gon’s relationships to Dooku and, most importantly, Anakin, could have been the difference in preventing the two of them from being isolated and then seduced by Palpatine. It also highlights how much the fall of the Republic and the Jedi centered on the failures of a patriarchal society, but y’know, I guess that’s a bit much for people to grasp.
