Gallifrey Base is currently full of people (only a handful, but still) whining about how the recent Who episode with its anti-imperialism message was ‘preachy’ and the Doctor punching a racist in the face was “wrong because the Doctor is a pacifist!!!!!” in an episode where he states that he can’t remember the number of people he’s killed.

The Doctor’s *never* been a pacifist. The very first story, it’s speculated that he really wanted to bash that cavemans’ head in with the rock – ‘draw us a map’, my ass. What he does do is prefer not to fight or attack unless he has to – and then it’s a case of no mercy, job done.
