At first, when I saw Rey’s hand reach out to that rock and it cuts to her lifting her head up and struggling to breathe, I thought that maybe she had just come out from what kinda looks like the cave behind her after having a force vision ala Luke in ESB.
But… on second thought, it seems strange to me that if she was that far in her training that her clothes and hair would be EXACTLY the same as they were at the end of TFA. So, that makes me think that this could actually be right at the beginning of TLJ.
Secondly, the way she reaches out and snaps her head up and gasps for air…makes it seem like she is dealing with an actual physical threat. And…that doesn’t really happen to Luke in ESB.
And the only conclusion I can come up with about this moment right now is this question…
