Reminder that this is the closest to a canon version of the Rugrats kids as adults, as done by a member of the Rugrats staff
All of the adults in their life were weird and lumpy so it really only makes sense that they’d grow up to be weird and lumpy
Imagine being so bitter and cruel that ten years after your show airs and a fan, who was likely a child when they watched your show, thought it’d be cute to draw adult versions of the characters (not naked btw, not doing something inappropriate, just wearing modern clothes), and you decided to use your power to mock them and encourage other fans to mock them too.
After some digging I found a response by the artist of the original piece:
Like jesus, there’s not a goddamn thing wrong with that art. A fan wanted to imagine what the characters might look like as adults, that’s all. Nobody’s naked, nobody’s having sex in the art, nobody’s doing drugs or implying anything ~tragic and edgy~ going on behind the scenes. They’re just dressed in modern clothes. It’s cute. It’s happy. It’s a nice piece of fanart.
People that nasty have no business interacting with fans, or being in a position to have fans at all. Every day I see dozens of talented people who make great art, write great stories, come up with great ideas, they would kill for a fanbase that lasts 10+ years.
And this jackass decides to sneer and spit in the face of a fan who dared to draw a piece of cute fanart.
