I’m 21 years old and severely disabled from a fall down a faulty staircase when I was 17. The last 4 years have been spent living in extreme poverty, because I’m both completely bedridden and estranged from abusive family. I desperately want to escape from this by fighting for accident compensation, which is now in serious jeopardy because fundraising for legal costs is 1 week late. Forfeiting compensation will dramatically shift the outcome of the rest of my life from having some hope of recovery – however minor – to being constantly under serious or mortal threat.
At 21 years of age, my condition has deteriorated to the point that I struggle to recall events which occurred 5 minutes prior and can barely type to sustain the fundraiser on which my life is literally dependent.
