Disney was literally a fucking nazi. Can we please stop pretending he was a beautiful person or whatever shit this is? 

I’m sorry, but I get tired of seeing comments like these. It’s insulting to say someone was a literal Nazi when they are in fact not. Unless Family Guy and Robot Chicken are your sources – there is no evidence to support this.
Disney donated regularly to Jewish charities, he was named “1955 Man of the Year” by the B’nai B’rith chapter in Beverly Hills, and his studio employed a number of Jewish people, some of whom were in influential positions. Walt wasn’t a saint, but he wasn’t a Nazi either.

I have issues with Disney the man, and even Disney the company but he is not at all an anti-Semite. Disney, as well as many studios, have obviously had things in their cartoons that have been indeed problematic and racist and they’re always defended by animation historians as a product of their time. I’m not justifying anything they might have done wrong in the past because of what was socially acceptable at the time. I’m not okay with trying to erase racism in the past by simply stating that it was a product of it’s time. As much as I love Disney I choose to see what their faults are and strive to be better than that, and to do better. Disney had his faults, but I don’t for one second believe he was a Nazi – there is no evidence for it.

The myth that Walt Disney was an antisemite was started by union leaders, to punish him for holding the popular stance that unions were un-American, and that the family atmosphere of Disney Studios meant that they didn’t need to pay their employees higher wages. It would be more accurate to slam Disney as a cheapskate and jingoist than a nazi.
